Description
There is a clay that is found in Morocco that has been used as a soap for many years (Xll - Xlll) by people in the North, as well as some in the Middle East. This clay is called "Ghassoul" or "Rhassoul" that is derived from the verb "Rassala", which means "to wash" in Arabic.
Ghassoul is obtained in Morocco and extracted from famous reservoirs on the brink of the Atlas Mountains, in the Moulouya valley, approximately 150 to 200 km away from Fes. The extraction method is very old and is carried out in tunnels and underground pits. As soon as the "Ghassoul" has been extracted from the underground tunnels, it is processed and cleansed in water. To rid the clay of impurities, it is laid down on an even surface or mats and dried in the sun. The result is a pure product that is marketed in the form of thin tiles or powder.
When you use "Ghassoul", you will soon notice that ecological cleansing agents are often better than their conventional counterparts. TEA Natura places importance on this wonderful gift of nature that is imported straight from Marocco. Hair and skin will thank you for the health and radiance that this product provides. The environment is not influenced in its production.
For many years, Ghassoul has been an indispensable element in the Arab world for all the preparations of the Hammam (Turkish bath). Mineral, natural and organic - this clay is devoted to the beauty of body and hair, used as a cream for cleansing the hair, as a mask for the face and to gently cleanse the body; it softens the skin, reduces the secretion of sebum, regenerates the skin, removes dead skin cells, and keeps the pores in balance. Ghassoul is recommended for sensitive and allergy-prone skin types; it cleanses the skin, removes impurities, particularly blackheads.
Ghassoul is ideally suited to strengthen the hair; recommended for all hair types because it does not dry the hair, it reduces the production of sebum, while the hair is left shiny and soft.
Ghassoul has the same cleansing effect as a natural shampoo; it cleanses and reduces oiliness on the scalp and hair, without causing damage. Hair that is treated with Ghassoul is left looking wonderfully shiny and soft.
Application:
- Preparation before applying Ghassoul: Mix the clay with water in a glass or wooden bowl, using a wooden spoon until a homogeneous paste is formed. Apply the paste to the hair, face and body using circular motions. Rinse thoroughly.
- Use circa one spoon for short hair and circa two or more spoons for longer hair.

An absolute must have for those with fine, oily hair
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I find Ghassoul super useful - either as 100 % substitute for a shampoo, or as an addition to it.
The trick is to wait a bit, like 5-10 min. and massage your scalp while washing it with Ghassoul. The hair is very clean, and what's important, keeps the clean effect with some nice volume after, without being over dry. Just use your regular balsam on the lenghts and get your hair used to Ghassoul, you will never want to abandon it after.
Definitely recommending it !Was this rating helpful? (1) (0)

ghassoul
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I was surprised of how good it cleans my hair. I left my hair until it got super oily and used this. My hair was clean and stayed not oily for 2 days. For me it really is something. With normal shampoo, I wash my hair in the morning and in the evening is already oily. I will continue to buy this forever.I found this website

Deep cleansing
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
I have never tried any powders for hair washing but after reading the good reviews decided to give this a go. The clay itself doesn't have fragrance, very slight earthy smell but not bad. It mixes well with water, I have also added some Khadi powder to the mix. I tried washing with powder only, my roots came very clean and soft but I have bleached ends and they felt somehow sticky so I use the clay more like a deep cleansing Scalp mask and wash lightly with shampoo to avoid the sticky feeling. It's brilliant for oily scalp like mine, hair stays cleaner for longer and it's not drying. Application is messy and takes a while to distribute it evenly. Over all a nice product.

Natural and versatile
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I love that this clay is all natural and you can use it in so many ways. I make my own face washing powder with it adding powdered lavender and rose petals, it’s so relaxing to use it specially in the evening with the lavender aroma. Other times I use it as a face mask and leave it on for about 10-15 minutes, without letting it dry. Before rinsing I scrub the face gently. It leaves my skin very soft. I stopped using face scrub altogether. I know you can wash hair with it as well but I haven’t tried it in that way since I am currently obsessed with solid shampoos.

incredible
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I bought this clay for masks. I then realized that you could use it to wash your skin and hair. My boyfriend loves it as a shampoo, for me its too drying. For the past 4 days I have been washing my face with the clay (with it I put in one or two drops of tea tree oil depending on how much I make). I dont let it dry, I just very gently massage the skin for a minute, adding some more water halfway to keep it nice and wet. My skin was breaking out so much, and now it looks so different!! I did start using new products, but since Ive done this wash regularly for one minute, it feels so good. Blackheads are almost gone, scars look better. Overall complexion looks way better than before using it. I wish I could post a picture!

you might need to wash your hair again, right after using the clay, with your normal shampoo. That has always worked for me... After that, your conditioner should work fine.
