Scentless variety
Rated with 3 out of 5 stars.
After using this deo a couple of days, I have the following feedback:
- I have the 'scentless' variety, which is good because I have a very sensitive skin and my nose reacts to (strong) scents almost immediately. I start sneezing when I use perfume, for example. The scentless version of this deo does not smell of anything and I find this a plus.
- You do have to get your hands dirty: to get the product out of the little jar, to put it on etc. After, you need to wash your hands, so this product is less useful when you're 'on-the-go'.
- Consistency is not smooth, but a bit 'grainy'. I made deo once myself and remember it's mostly the combination of coconut oil and baking soda. There's also baking soda in this deo and that's what makes it a bit difficult to spread out. It helps if you warm the product up first so it melts a little. You can do this by first pressing and holding the product against your skin (coconut oil melts at relatively low temperatures, so you'll sense it starts to melt at the temperature of your skin) and then rubbing it in.
- It works, I guess: for my day-to-day life (sitting at a desk, in an office), this deo does its work. Don't know how it'll hold up when sporting etc. though.
- It leaves marks: I get the infamous white stripes on my clothing. These do wash out, but it is rather annoying. Maybe it happens because I do not spread it out enough or I do not wait long enough. The thing is: usually I'm in a hurry in the morning and I don't have time to be held back by my deo.
So, there's stuff I like and things that could be better. After using this jar (it was a gift), I'm going back to my preferred brand (Citrus deo-spray by Weleda, which does have a scent, but I like that deo a lot).
