Biopark Cosmetics Patchouli Oil, 5 ml

This essential oil stems from Indonesia and is perfect for freshening the air with a diffuser or as an additive for care products. It is obtained by steam-distilling patchouli leaves. The oil possesses a golden brown colour and as a very warm, earthy aroma with fresh, fruity notes.

Blends well with: sandalwood, bergamot, cedarwood, rose, sweet orange, cassia, myrrh, opopanax, and sage.

Interesting facts: Patchouli is a very fragrant herb with soft oval leaves and square stems. It reaches about 1 metre in height and provides an unusual odour that is characteristic of patchouli when the leaves are rubbed between the fingers. The colour of the Patchouli oil is affected by the distillation machine. If distillation is done in stainless steel then the colour will be light. Distilling the leaves in an iron tank results in a darker shade. In the perfumery industry, the use of aged patchouli oil is preferred over freshly harvested and distilled oil. Patchouli has been long known in India and has become popular in Europe in recent years.
